  1. I like your stockings. Did you already have Lydie's made?

  2. No, the funny thing is I didn't think of asking my mom to make Lydie's stocking until about October, and she didn't think she would get it done in time. But then, lydie died and it suddenly seemed like she HAD to have a stocking. So we went with the simple white and my mom got it done quickly. My mom made mine and Justin's before we had Ben, otherwise I think they would say "mom" and "dad."

  3. Mom can still do a quick fix to make them say Mom and Dad.

  4. The stockings haunt me every year. I'm glad your mom did this.

  6. Another loss mama here, coming out from those "Right Where I Am" posts from 2011. And 2012. And 2013. Andrew also has a stocking. We don't have names on ours, but if we did, his would be big and bold. No shame. Just love. I hope you hang it for Lydie forever.

  7. We put up all of our stockings, just like that, all together. Just as they should be in an alternative universe.

  8. We hang a white stocking for Hayes too--it is perfect to me. It makes it feel as though he's a part of Christmas in our home like he is in our hearts, but in his own way, which is why I like the white while the other kids have things on their blue stockings. If I am feeling it, it write a letter or card to Hayes and seal it and put it in the stocking. Maybe one day, I will open them and read from past years.
